Unusual him :-)

Obviously he is not a romantic guy. He gets easily shy and embarrassed to say or do something corny (but so romantic for us girls). Instead he sometimes made fun of those corny guys on the movies. So, we don't really watch corny series together, but we super enjoy being together watching Monk :-).

But last night, while I was searching some old songs, I came across those from Barry White. His favorite. And now my favorite. He sang along "Just the way you are" while I was lying on his lap. I heard this song sung by many, but by Barry White, I couldn't help feeling deep into lyrics. And because my boyfriend was singing, I couldn't help thinking this song was dedicated to me.

I took advantage of this rare romantic opportunity to let my mind flow with the music, and I did cry. ..

Don't go changing, trying to please me
You never let me down before
I don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I would not leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I don't want to work that hard
I just want some someone to talk to
I want you just the way you are.

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.

I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from my heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.

new hair cut and back to (new) school

So, I officially started my second year in Switzerland. To cut my boredom, I got a new hair cut (inspired by Heidi Klum). I got bangs on my forehead...hey yaa....I look pretty young and different (in a good way). This was kinda major decision coz I don't really like changing my hair style so much. But that was the beginning of the first change!

The next change is that I no more attend the uni in Lugano, but I'm heading north to St. Gallen. One thing that I was not warned is the weather ---it's freakingly cold!! This is only fall and the temp went down to 14C in the morning.

Another thing is the uni is on the mountain. People say, hey it's just a hill. But for those who used to Mediterrenean sun and flat road with a bit of pebbles like me I have to complain. The classes usually start at a quarter past. The bus usually arrives at 4 past. My lecture rooms are usually on the top of the mountain and at the very west end. I gotta fight the little air up there and this numbness and this bitter cold. I had to forget how tired I was but just kept walking. If I ever think once, I will be 3 mins late. Here, they have on-time culture.

The next change is competition. Every class I chose says active participation required. I have never ever seen any shy Asians sat in the back at the corner and tried to blend into the wall. Well, you can't do that coz the seat arrangement is in the U-shape with no more than 20 seats. I rather saw enthusiastic, high achieving, future-consultant-being people everywhere. The very first class, I was too shocked to speak. But I will catch it up.....oh well...

The next positive thing is systematic organization. So far, I have not yet been encountered with any frustration. I feel included, understood, and respected. I have been well informed in every single issue from big to small. I feel that my voice is as loud as anybody else. It's so important. I don't feel that I have anything to complain about.

Now I feel that I have been in a significant milestone in my life...I feel satisfied in a foreign land.
